What is Mineral Spa Chlorination
As the dissolved minerals (a Magnesium Chloride & Potassium Chloride Mix) in the spa water passes over the electrolytic cell the process of electrolysis converts minerals chloride ions to hypochlorite (liquid chlorine).
The advantages of mineral spa chlorination, apart from the sanitising effect are the pleasantness of the water, lack of red eyes from prolonged bathing, convenience and safety, lower chemical costs and the fact that asthma and hayfever sufferers can now enjoy bathing in the spa without adverse symptoms.
Bathers in the spa now enjoy the added health benefits of these essential minerals (Magnesium & Potassium) which are absorbed into the body.
Installation
The mineral spa unit cell electrode is simply & safely immersed directly into the spa water. The Power Supply is mounted in a convenient location to a power source. The Power supply powers the cell with a safe, low DC Voltage.
A mineral blend mix, containing a unique combination of Potassium Chloride & Magnesium Chloride is added to and dissolved into the spa water, at a rate of between 1/2 - 1 kilogram for every 1 000 litres of water (500 - 1000 parts per million).
This mineral level is very low and is so mild it is actually pleasant to taste.
Minerals need to be replaced only when water is lost through overflowing or flooding. Evaporation of water will only concentrate the salt level and will be diluted again when the spa level is topped up.
Typical Installation
Mineral SpaChlorination is suitable for both domestic & commercial applications. It eliminates the need to manually dose the pool with sanitation products, that are expensive & dangerous to handle and store.
The spa water is far more pleasant to bathe in, with silky like feel that does not irritate the skin or eyes.
